Another level 2 workout, this time with Nick and Jason Johnson as the coach. I’m excited when I see the skill. We are doing t2b! I work with Jason a bit on how to kip and be more efficient and fast. I sort of get it and am happy he seems impressed I can do them. My hands hurt a little bit after the skill but it’s not bad. The WOD today is pretty straight forward but has this neat component that I have never done before. After you finish the WOD, you do a buyout which in today’s case, is t2b. This is actually the score for the WOD. I’m feeling great about this!
WOD
5 rounds/15 minute cap
15 box jumps (20″)
15 wall balls (blue)
Score is the number of t2b you finish in your remaining time: 22 reps
I wasn’t the first one done with the WOD by any means but I had a decent amount of time for the buyout. But I looked down at my hands are realized they were torn to shreds. However, I had to finish the WOD (so I thought) so I just kept going as best as I could. There was skin hanging off and I was even getting some blood on the bar…
Got done with the workout and Nick came over to see how I did. I showed him my hands. He was horrified and not at all pleased that I had kept going. I told him I didn’t realize I could stop and he gave me a look that screamed “Are you a fucking idiot!?” and I couldn’t have agreed more. This injury was awful and took at least a week to recover from. Ok, I know that’s not that long but it affected my entire life. I sucked at the ER because I couldn’t even wash my hands after seeing a patient. I tried a million different band-aids and tape and none really helped. Plus, I couldn’t do any workouts that week that involved the pull-up bar. Even regular bars were a challenge. What an idiot I was.
